A small animal internal medicine specialist is a veterinarian, who after earning the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, enrols into a rigorous advanced 3 year residency training program. After successful completion of the residency training, specialty candidates earn the right to sit a gruelling two day national examination. Once a passing grade is achieved and after publishing a scientific study, candidate veterinarians can then call themselves a specialist.
Dr. Vlad's approach to consultation ensures the best possible continuation of veterinary care for your pet as the consulting specialist is present in your veterinarian's office for immediate discussion and is easily reachable for follow up if required by your veterinarian. This way you can rest assured that we all will be working towards the best possible medical solutions for your pet. Your veterinarian will communicate the recommendations to you and in specially complicated cases you will hear directly from Dr. Vlad.
